How It Began
HRmango was founded by Damon, an HR Director at a tech company with big seasonal hiring needs. He needed to hire people who could teach various languages to students across the US. The need came up two or three times a year — not enough to justify a full-time recruiter.
He went to traditional headhunters and staffing agencies. He asked if he could access their recruiters and systems on a limited basis. They said no. Their model required more commitment — and more money — than his budget allowed.
So Damon built the solution himself. He created HRmango to give companies access to experienced recruiters on demand — with their own tools, systems, and databases. No long-term contracts. Pricing built to fit any budget. HRmango was born out of recruiting pain, limited budgets, and a big heart.

Damon loves the beach and eating mangoes because that is where he finds absolute, stress-free peace. He wants to give applicants and hiring managers that exact same relaxed feeling throughout the recruitment process.To make that vision a reality, he built GateKeeper—our in-house applicant tracking system designed to eliminate the chaotic, everyday friction of talent tracking.
